How this page worksDid you have retinoblastoma when you were small?
Do you know somebody who did, and would you like to know more about it?
This part of the website should help to answer some of the questions you might have about retinoblastoma (ret- in-oh-blast-oh mah). You will also find some stories which other children have written about what it's like to have had retinoblastoma (which we call Rb for short) and some of the things they have been up to.
It mostly affects children before they are 5 years old. Nearly all children who have Rb get better but it is a very worrying time for everybody, mums and dads, brothers and sisters, grandparents and friends.
If you are worried or upset you should tell somebody because it is better to share your feelings. If you don't understand something, ask questions so that things can be explained properly. Sometimes our imagination is worse than the real thing! |
