Community days

Ever wanted to help raise awareness of retinoblastoma but didn't know how?
There are many ways of spreading the word, including holding a 'community day'. This could take the shape of an organised event, such as a stand at a school fete, car boot sale or village carnival or you could even set up a stand in your local shopping centre. The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust can provide you with banners, posters and leaflets to help you on the day.
Chris and Sarah Shaw arranged for a stand in their local shopping centre, handing out leaflets and chatting to parents about the signs and symptoms of the disease - not only did they do a fantastic job raising awareness amongst shoppers but their face painting skills helped to net CHECT more than £700 in donations too!
If you would like to arrange something similar to the Shaws' event, call Fiona on 0207 377 5578 or email
