CHECT member Lillia hits the airwaves
A 22-month-old girl has hit the airwaves this time in the South West thanks to her parents' efforts to raise awareness of retinoblastoma.
Lillia Whittle, who was diagnosed with unilateral Rb last year has now had her story featured on Heart FM after appearing in two of her local papers and local ITV West TV station.
Childhood Eye Cancer Trust chief executive Joy Felgate was invited onto ITV West's programme to explain the symptoms of the disease and what parents should be looking out for, including 'white eye' reflection, squint and a red or sore eye without infection.
Parents Craig and Natalie have gone all out to do everything they can to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of childhood eye cancer, determined that something positive would come out of their otherwise devastating diagnosis.
Craig and Natalie have now set up Lillia's own awareness page on Facebook and are working with a news agency to try and spread the message as widely as possible.
