Report back on our meet-up at Eureka!

CHECT meet-up at Eureka! in Halifax

We met on the station platform...

Families from Lancashire and Yorkshire came together literally on the staion platform at Eureka! Museum of Childhood in Halifax for the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust North meet-up in November.

The old station platform adjoining Eureka! National Children's Museum has been turned into a glassed-in area for meetings and so our members were able to watch the trains coming and going in the sunshine.

The families met up for lunch which turned out to be quite a feast with contributions of food from everyone – including Alison Muscroft's fabulous chocolate cake.  After which there was a special story telling session provided for our friends at Eureka! for the children which gave the adults a
chance to chat.

One mum Jane Hunt said: "It was the first time I had attended a meet so it is hard to compare. It was nice to meet other parents in a "normal" environment, it is usually only at hospital appointments that you get the chance to meet parents who are in the same boat as yourselves. It was a nice friendly relaxed atmosphere."

After this there was plenty of time to go round the museum and get interactive!
